Spoken Rule (Could not, but)

Could not but

বাংলা বাক্যের শেষে না “পারলাম না/ না….পারল না” থাকলে Could not but ব্যবহার হয়।

Structure: Sub+ could not but + verb +Ext.

Example:

✪ আমি না হেসে পারলাম না – I could not but laugh.

✪ আমি অনুষ্ঠানে না গিয়ে পারলাম না – I could not but go to the function.

✪ আমি তার সাথে ঝগড়া না করে পারলাম না – I could not but quarrel with him.

✪ সে আমাকে টাকা না দিয়ে পারল না – He could not but give me money.
